Dear Colleague

AGM – PRELIMINARY NOTICE

The Main Annual General Meetings (AGMs) of the branch will be held on:

  • 24th March 2020 at the committee room of Borders General Hospital at 9am-11am
  • 30th March 2020 in the Canteen Meeting Room at Scottish Borders Council 12-1:30pm

The AGM is the supreme policy making forum of the branch.

It will elect the Branch Officers for 2020, formulate policy on important issues affecting all members, and can amend the Branch rules.

This preliminary notice is being issued now to allow members time to submit nominations and motions prior to the AGM. We ask that all nominations and motions are received by 14th of February at 12 Noon.

Following on from last year’s AGM we have decided to offer a drop in style meeting where we will provide AGM packs and opportunity to cast your votes. We will also be holding a series of formally convened aggregate AGM meetings in a number of workplaces across the Scottish Borders – the details of these aggregate meetings are included.

Any voting will take place at the AGMs and at the aggregate meetings.  Please note: if you attend more than one AGM, you will only be allowed to vote once.

The AGMs are very important meetings.  Please make every effort to attend and participate. Only a quorate AGM gives the branch the mandate we need to continue our work to modernize and improve the service given to you, our members. All motions and matters arising will be discussed at all Aggregate AGM’S as well as at the Main AGM.

If you would like assistance or advice about submitting issues to the meeting or require assistance to attend any meeting, please feel free to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

Kaymarie Hughes
